Ssamzie-gil complex in Insa-dong

February 14, 2014

If you are looking for a place to shop for Korean souvenirs, handicrafts and traditional arts,
Ssamzie-gil(쌈지길 in Korean) complex is your destination to head for. It is a landmark in Insa-dong(인사동 in Korean) where you can have some experience of Korean tradition, culture and art.

This artistic complex is unique in that it was built by connecting the passages on each level in a shape of square. That makes the building on the whole look like a spiral. While walking along the passage, you can have a look at stores that sell eye-catching handicrafts, souvenirs, artworks, and ornaments.

The four-story complex, however, is more than an ordinary shopping center. Take your time and walk around. Enjoy your time all along the way to the top where an extraordinary view of the sky unfolds before your eyes. You can also see the blue sky while standing on the ground in the middle of the complex.
