Brunch at Bim Bom

January 19, 2014

My favorite day, Sunday!

I went for a brunch with my friend to a cafe called Bim Bom(빙봉 in Korean). Located in Hannam-dong area, central part of Seoul, the cafe is very small, just having 10 tables for two people per table.

This place has a signature brunch collection served in a 3-level tray. You can taste as many as 4 different foods at the same time.

We had French toast with banana, sliced almond and blueberry at the top of the tray. It was so sweet and delicious with the cinnamon flavor staying in.

On the second level were eggs Benedict, called Eggs Norwegian, and egg pie, called Quiche Lorraine. The eggs Benedict consisted of poached eggs, smoked salmon, rucola leaves and Hollandaise sauce on top of a toasted English muffin. The egg pie was filled with bacon, onion and Gruyère cheese. It was served with tomato bruschetta.

Crêpe, called Before Sunrise Crêpe, was on the first level of the tray. The Crêpe is made with buckwheat-flour with ham, bacon, egg and rucola leaves. It was soft, but a little salty.

For tea, I had a cup of Earl Grey along with the food. I expected it to be loose-leaf tea, but to my disappointment it came from a tea bag. Well, it had a nice bergamot flavor, though.

I found some eye-catching teas on the menu like maple milk tea and lemon ginger tea.
I'd like to get back and try these later!
