Afternoon tea in Treeanon

January 11, 2014

Teatime with a friend is always pleasant experience.

Last saturday, I went to a tea room called Treeanon(트리아농 in Korean) located in Gangnam, the southern part of Seoul. It is a small place having six tables, but has an intimate atmosphere.

My friend and I had an Afternoon Tea. For tea, we chose Lady Grey, a citrus, orange and lemon flavored black tea. It was sweet and refreshing and a perfect choice for the cloudy day.

We also had delicious snacks along with the tea. Scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam, sandwiches, pieces of pound cakes, croissant topped with strawberry, yogurt with nuts, grapes, and sweet macaroons!

I thought we could not eat them all at a first glance, but well, we had them all. It was around $15 per person, which was not as expensive as any afternoon tea provided in hotels. I loved it.
