Smelling the lilacs

April 2014

April is the time when lilacs are in bloom in Seoul. More captivating than their pinkish purple color is their perfume. 

It is sad that the period when I can smell lilacs lasts just a couple of weeks. The sweet delicate scent always makes me(and likely most people) smile. I just stand around a lilac tree and wait for the fragrance to blow over me. It is one of the best moments that I can enjoy in spring time.

Spring is the best time of a year to read a book on a bench. 

Hi, magnolia

This spring I came across some magnolia in Seoul, mostly(I suppose) cream-colored. One day I was surprised to see a picture of purple or pink magnolia on Google Plus as I had simply thought there was just one color for the flower. 

By the time I gave up on finding purple or pink magnolia, ta-da! To my surprise, I found the pink magnolia buds in the neighborhood of my hometown, PyeongChang, about one month later I took pictures of magnolia in Seoul. I think I have not given much attention to the nature around me.
