Everyday flowers

November 8, 2013

Beauty is everywhere. These are the flowers that are in front of the doorsteps of my work. I see them everyday, but I just used to pass by these flowers. One day I saw them with full light on them and they were gorgeous.

Heard these are geraniums.

Red ilex rotunda in Jeju Island

November, 2012

I visited Jeju Island, the southernmost island of S. Korea, last year. It was around this time.

The island is beyond beautiful and so are the trees, flowers, and everything in nature. These trees of ilex rotunda are one of them. They bear red fruits in autumn and their flowers bloom in spring. The color is so red!

Colorful chrysanthemums, Seoul Plaza

November 7, 2013

I thought it would keep raining early this morning, so I carried my umbrella with me to my work. Then, to my surprise, the sunlight began coming out of the clouds. The sunshine was beaming during the lunch time, so right after my lunch, I went to Seoul Plaza(서울광장 in Korean) with my coworker.

Seoul Plaza is located right in front of Seoul City Hall and Seoul Library. It is also just across Deoksugung Palace.

Today it was like I was at some chrysanthemum festivals. There were all different types and colors of chrysanthemums, which I like the most about fall.

Deoksugung Palace this fall

November 5, 2013
Autumn is in the air in #Deoksugung Palace.
It has so many different colors and refreshing smells.

It's one of five royal palaces which remain in Seoul.
The name means the palace of virtue and longevity.

It's fascinating that it is in the middle of downtown Seoul, just across Seoul City Hall.
Luckily enough for me, my office is just a 5 minute walk.

I'll post more of its buildings, gardens and architecture next time!

Cockscomb flowers in PyeongChang

November 4, 2013

My mom sent me these pictures of cockscomb flowers. She took them in the neighborhood of her house in PyeongChang. I've seen them during my visit there. Aren't they so colorful and lovely?
