Colorful chrysanthemums, Seoul Plaza

November 7, 2013

I thought it would keep raining early this morning, so I carried my umbrella with me to my work. Then, to my surprise, the sunlight began coming out of the clouds. The sunshine was beaming during the lunch time, so right after my lunch, I went to Seoul Plaza(서울광장 in Korean) with my coworker.

Seoul Plaza is located right in front of Seoul City Hall and Seoul Library. It is also just across Deoksugung Palace.

Today it was like I was at some chrysanthemum festivals. There were all different types and colors of chrysanthemums, which I like the most about fall.

Deoksugung Palace this fall

November 5, 2013
Autumn is in the air in #Deoksugung Palace.
It has so many different colors and refreshing smells.

It's one of five royal palaces which remain in Seoul.
The name means the palace of virtue and longevity.

It's fascinating that it is in the middle of downtown Seoul, just across Seoul City Hall.
Luckily enough for me, my office is just a 5 minute walk.

I'll post more of its buildings, gardens and architecture next time!

Cockscomb flowers in PyeongChang

November 4, 2013

My mom sent me these pictures of cockscomb flowers. She took them in the neighborhood of her house in PyeongChang. I've seen them during my visit there. Aren't they so colorful and lovely?

the Asian Park

October 26, 2013

It's beautiful Saturday and I went for a walk to the 'Asian Park' near my house.
It's located right next to the Sports Complex station on subway line no.2, or the green one.
The park was created in 1986 as part of the establishment of the apartment complex for the athletes who took part in the 10th Asian Games in Seoul.

The sunlight was shining!

 The leaves were turning yellow.

See the sunlight through the leaves?

And 3 days later..

Oct 29, 2013
This is the same park as the above.
It was a little cloudy, though.
Right after I got back home around 5 p.m., it started raining hard.
It's not surprising that I fell asleep less than 1 hour in my bed. :))

The inscription on the rock says 'the Asian Park.'
Did you notice that?

Love the autumn colors of the trees!

The wooden benches are all over the place.
You can sit on them for a minute and look around you.

The pine trees are also dense in this park.

The street alongside the subway station.

It's all in yellow!

I took this picture inside +Starbucks Coffee located right across the park's parking lot.
I ordered raspberry banana smoothie, which was delicious but too cold later on.
